Did Nancy Pfotenhauer Miss Something?

Nancy Pfotenhauer claimed on CNN that most Americans would "have their premiums increased, not decreased," and that "hundreds of millions of people lose their current insurance coverage."

The Congressional Budget Office (independent agency whose estimates for pending legislation are considered nonpartisan and rigorous) report states that premiums would either stay about the same or decrease slightly, especially for people who get their insurance through work. People with individual insurance could see rates increase by 10-13%. More than half of those people (approximately 57 %), would be eligible for subsidies to help them pay for the insurance. People who get subsidies would see their premiums drop by more than half, according to the CBO.

As for "hundreds of millions of people" losing their coverage, there is little to no evidence to support this.

As a result, PolitiFact.org rates Nancy Pfotenhauer's remarks as PANTS ON FIRE; read the full analysis from PolitiFact.org, click here.
